Mr. Gutierrez has been an active litigator both in Puerto Rico and in Texas for the last 19 years. Mr. Gutierrez has represented individual clients, corporate and government entities as well as insurance carriers during these 19 years. In particular, Mr. Gutierrez has either prosecuted or defended claims pertaining to personal injury, medical malpractice, property damages, products liability, economic losses and other type claims in the broadest context. In addition, Mr. Gutierrez has developed strong decision-making, negotiating and problem-solving skills necessary to resolve complex disputes effectively through settlement, dispositive motions in advance of trial or through trial to a final judgment or award, and appeal if necessary.
More recently, because of both hurricane Irma and Maria, Mr. Gutierrez saw the real need for experienced litigators to defend policy holders against the interest of Puerto Rico’s insurance companies that routinely and unjustly delay and deny them fair compensation. Mr. Gutierrez moved back to Puerto Rico and is now working on behalf of policy holders, seeking to make his clients whole again in claims where the insurance companies fail to respect their customers by failing to fulfill their contractual agreements. Since joining Farrell Patel Jomarron & Lopez, Mr. Gutierrez has represented not only individual policy holders but non-profit organizations, condominiums and government entities. Because of Mr. Gutierrez’ vast experience working with insurance companies he is uniquely positioned to understand, prepare and ultimately succeed when called to defend the rights of his clients.
Mr. Gutierrez is admitted to the Bars of Puerto Rico and Texas, as well as U.S. District Court, District of Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Court of Appeals, 1st Circuit.
